Curling

Thought to have been invented in medieval Scotland the popularity of curling here is testament to the strong Scottish heritage of New Zealand, especially in the Otago region. Thought to have been brought here by early goldminers there are a number of curling clubs. Visitors now have a golden opportunity to try their hand at the sport with the development of an indoor rink at Naseby in the Maniatoto.
