The owners and hosts of the Dairy live on site and live and breathe their business enjoying it to the extent that they don't see it as 'work'.
This central Queenstown, intimate boutique hotel, attracts a great deal of attention from passers by, the original 1920s 'corner dairy' with its double shop doors and expansive windows sits right on the footpath and somehow insists they look in. Now the breakfast room for the hotel, it is often mistaken for a café open to the public.
Paul and Matt, with considerable experience in the industry, are relatively new owners of this now flourishing Queenstown gem.
On arrival, afternoon tea, with freshly baked scones is served in the guest lounge, eminently comfortable couches clustered around a cheery fire, with Paul and Matt on hand to give advice on restaurants and cafes, make reservations and to help their guests plan their stay in this mecca of adventure.
The Dairy is within easy walking distance of the myriad of dining options available the return trip prepares guests for a soak in the hot tub or a night cap in front of the fire with a book from the hotel library.
After a glorious sleep in the extremely well appointed guest room breakfast is a highlight, produced effortlessly by the hosts. Questioned on their exceptional service they quip "If a guest wants mineral water at 10.45pm, we go out and find it". It's that simple, hospitality with a capital H.
