No detail has been overlooked at Kimeret Place on the beautiful Bronte Peninsula between Nelson and Motueka.
There is an air of serenity and calm, spacious airy rooms, extensive outdoor living areas and inspiring views across the Waimea Inlet to the Richmond Ranges beyond.
Surrounded by nearly two hectares of landscaped gardens privacy is guaranteed, the heated swimming pool and the hot tub beckon but perhaps the most attractive prospect is the chance to stop and contemplate the view.
There are hints of the nautical interests of hosts Gill and Ian, cushions decorated with a single shell, a seahorse in the bathroom, both having spent a number of years crewing superyachts in Europe. Where this experience is most evident is in the impeccable, discreet service, touches such as a personalised welcome card, different Maori legends each night as bed time reading and a tempting platter of homemade treats, brownie, fresh strawberries from the garden, nuts and dried fruit alongside the tea and coffee making.
Gill specialises in innovative breakfasts, often using fresh eggs from her own hens and fruit grown on the property. Breakfast is often served outside on the sunny deck, after all the climate here is superb and the layout of Kimeret Place lends itself to full enjoyment of the sunshine hours.
Nelson has a strong boutique wine industry, sometimes overshadowed by the vast Marlborough holdings, but quite distinct in the varieties grown and the flavours produced. Kimeret Place is ideally positioned for guests wishing to explore the wine trail, visit the artists and craftsmen who flourish in the area and to taste the unspoilt wilderness and unspoilt beaches.
