All local tour operators pick up from our door and we offer a complimentary tour booking service. We have plenty of off-street parking and are happy for you to leave your car in our parking area if you are away tramping (hiking) or doing an overnight cruise. We are also happy to on-book accommodation within New Zealand for you.
We highly recommend you take the time to experience the Fiordland film, Ata Whenua (Shadowlands), which takes you on an unforgettable journey by helicopter through the most awe- inspiring landscapes on earth filmed across extremes of season, climate and terrain.
Why not stay a few days and enjoy day trips to both Milford and Doubtful Sounds. You could take a Jet boat ride or scenic flight to see Lord of the Rings scenery. If you enjoy golfing, Te Anau Golf Course has one of the best views you could imagine, situated right beside the lake. Take one of the many walks in the area – We are just a few minutes drive to the entrance to the world renowned Kepler Track or visit our Bird Park where you will see the Takahe, one of the world’s rarest birds.

Te Anau is the gateway to Fiordland, an ancient wilderness of lakes, mountainous peaks, dense rainforest and steep sided fiords. The road to Milford Sound is purported to be one of the world's finest alpine drives and Milford Sound was described a 'the eight wonder of the world' by Rudyard Kipling. Internationally renowned walks and all manner of methods of exploring this truly astounding region are on offer.
Nestled in a quiet residential area a few streets back from the lakeside is the ideal base for exploring this awe inspiring area. Hosts Phillip and Julia expanded their popular Bed and Breakfast operation, initially one suite in their home, some seven years ago, further renovating the internal suite three years ago. Their carefully designed, three self contained studios, built on a section adjacent to their home are set in lush, colourful gardens which give no hint of the sometimes harsh climate in this southern resort town. Guests enjoy the consistently delicious and varied breakfasts offered in the main house or if they are planning an early start can request a hamper of provisions.
Phillip and Julia are consummate hosts, genuinely interested in their guests' plans and well equipped to advise on the attractions and activities available, Phillip's work with the police and more latterly with St John Ambulance, crewing both the ambulance and rescue helicopter,as well as Land SAR qualify him as an expert in the areas beauty and grandeur.
