From the north take 3A road to Inglewood, Wanganui travel 4km on Mountain Road, turn right into Manatahi Road, Upland Road first on left. Drive 3.3km to Villa Heights.

A few minutes south of New Plymouth, amidst lush green farmland is a gem of hospitality and comfort.
A lovingly restored villa, relocated from South Taranaki, Villa Heights is surrounded by an enchanting, meticulously maintained garden and commands superb views of the awe inspiring mountain and in the other direction the sea.
John and Rosemary, made New Zealand their home some 45 years ago when as a young married couple they arrived from Ireland to investigate framing practice here. Very involved in the community and established as ‘Kiwis’ there is still an Irish twinkle about both of them and hints of that engaging accent make their way into conversation.
The Lucas’s revel in their role as hosts, genuinely enjoying their guests company and their ability to advise and recommend activities and venues to visit.
I had the good fortune to spend and evening at Villa Heights and after a delicious meal and good company enjoyed a blissful sleep, fine linen, an extraordinarily comfortable King sized bed and the delicious silence and darkness of the country.
New Plymouth is a vibrant and eclectic city and its many festivals, the magnificent coastal walkway and arts community make it a very appealing destination, with Villa Heights the ideal base from which to explore.
