Retired farmers Rosemary and John consider their near lifetime association with the land well qualify them as hosts. "But the farmhouse wasn't suitable, so we restored this".

Their gracious Victorian villa is an absolute delight. Set in beautiful formal gardens, behind a sweeping drive, the villa is unpretentious to the arriving traveller. Delight awaits those who appreciate finely crafted timbers. This is not the dark wood panelling of an Irish country home or English gentleman's club. Panels and ceilings are of rich, glowing New Zealand natives. It is the product of modern craftsmanship and the result is spectacular. Pointing to the ornately crafted timber ceiling John explains the enormity of the work.

However this home is not just about the house and its spectacular views, it also about the wonderful warm hospitality that we experienced. Rosemary and John are well qualified to advise you on the many attractions of Taranaki, including the gardens - a great passion of theirs. There are also the beaches and the beautiful countryside.
