Situated on 2.5 hectares of rural land on the outskirts of Wanaka, Maple Lodge enjoys a prime position with outstanding views of the mountains. The rooms are all graciously furnished with an individual theme each named after New Zealand native trees.
As the name implies, Maple Lodge is surrounded by a plantation of Maple trees, which form the backbone of spacious and picturesque gardens no matter what the season. Our hosts, Berny and Paul, have designed a striking building, utilizing schist and recycled timber. The centre-piece is a spacious guest lounge opening out to a paved courtyard oozing style, warmth, and character, enhanced by a large stone open fireplace. This is an ideal place to relax with a glass of the famous local Pinot Noir after a great day on the ski slopes, on enjoying the sites of Wanaka. We enjoyed relaxing with our fellow guests in this warm, welcome atmosphere. Breakfast is served in the guest dining area with views across the garden to the surrounding mountains.
If you just want to chill out, enjoying the peace and tranquility there is the jacuzzi to ease travel aches and pains, their own "Lord of the Rings" game or simply relax and take in the view with a book. Maple Lodge is the perfect place to stay for a few days, rejuvenate, meet new friends in beautiful surroundings and enjoy the wonderful activities to be found in the Lake Wanaka's famed region.
