Old Saint Mary's Convent Retreat

This is a stunning building. What used to be the Saint Mary's Convent built in 1901 is now an up-market guest accommodation.

This huge building, with its many verandahs, has five large suites for guests. The elegantly appointed living areas include a dining room and, because the Convent has recently been renovated, guests are provided with all modern luxuries in an environment that reflects the original use of the building.

The honeymoon suite which is a replica of the original convent chapel, is beautifully copied and furnished with such care, it will take your breath away.

The Convent is located on 60 acres of immaculately landscaped lawns, gardens and vineyard producing own label wines. My bedroom was spacious and light with a huge bathroom complete with a unique, deep, oval bath. All ensuites have claw-foot baths as well as showers and feature beautiful toiletries. Breakfast was fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereals and a full cooked selection, all elegantly served.

There is an historic, deconsecrated church on the property that is mostly used for weddings and functions.
