West Wellow Lodge

Private, beautiful and luxurious, three words to describe West Wellow Lodge.  Set in a secret garden hideaway at Acacia Bay over looking Lake Taupo, this is a true gem. Rose gardens and a lily pond set the scene reminiscent of a fine English country home.

Our hosts Amanda and Steve greet us warmly and we are shown to the four guest rooms which are all upstairs, three of which face out over the lake from a Wisteria covered verandah. They combine sheer elegance with panoramic views. The furnishings are luxurious in restful colours, artworks adorn the walls, bathrooms spacious and personal touches complete the romance of this picture.

We join our friendly young hosts downstairs for drinks and beautiful hors d'ouvres in the equally elegant, exquisitely furnished drawing room which is adjacent to the billiard room. They made us feel right at home before heading off to dine in the one of the numerous restaurants and cafés in town - a short drive away.Taupo is a haven for sporting lovers with numerous world class golf courses including Wairakei International, trout fishing in season, water activities and hiking trails to name a few ways to experience this area or simply walk down to tha lake 10 mins away.

West Wellow Lodge is the perfect place to call home for a few days however the romantic setting will have you thinking about that perfect intimate occasion or special event.
