Kauri Point

Nestled in extensive gardens and surrounded by mature trees, this is a retreat to savor and enjoy. Kauri Point is situated in the secluded area of Bonshaw Park on the outskirts of Taupo. Hosts Gail and Robert searched for the perfect place to operate a B&B after a number of years hospitality experience in England. What they found is small, intimate, tropical, reminiscent of a mini resort rather than a typical B&B.

The three suites are spacious, each beautifully furnished with lovely linens, well appointed bathrooms, comfortable chairs and many luxurious little touches to make each a special haven for travelers.  A large, sun-filled terrace wraps around the rooms, dining area and guest lounge.  It is here many hours can be spent enjoying the abundant bird life and catching up with fellow guests and our very gracious hosts who are passionate about creating a relaxing and tranquil experience for guests to enjoy. Breakfast is a story in itself, changing daily according to the seasons and the inspirations of this talented couple. I do recommend you arrange to join them for dinner for one night of your stay - a culinary delight.

There is no shortage of activities in Taupo from walks, water activities, shopping and local cafés. There is also another dimension, if you are staying 3 days, time and weather permitting what better way to see the lake than joining our host in their boat. This is a charming place to call home.
