Centre Hill Cottage

This is a little piece of paradise in South Canterbury. Driving through the picturesque farmland of the Totara Valley just out of Pleasant Point  there on a rise, with commanding views of the surrounding countryside, is Centre Hill Cottage Farmstay.

Set among mature trees, on a certified organic farm, this gorgeous cottage has an overwhelming feeling of romance. To greet us was our host Ian Blakemore who has been in the area all his life, and lives just 100 metres away, and on hand to help with planning our days.

Having settled into our spacious two bedroom cottage, it seemed essential to open a lovely bottle of wine from the complimentary hamper and sit out on the full length deck. It was difficult to decide whether to  just enjoy the peace and tranquility or listen to the sounds of our favorite symphony waft across the hills.

There is so much to see and do in this area. Mount Cook is an easy drive away and there is an abundance of fishing spots and biking routes. Farm visits, BBQ, swimming pool, tennis are all available on site by arrangement. Our choice was to visit the local vineyard and café, a favorite of Ian's. We followed this up with a soak in the luxury of the outdoor bath.

This is the place to find peace and harmony, listen to the sounds of silence and  just take time out. Pleasant Point this certainly is!
