Greeted by hosts Susan & John, I was shown to one of two elegant lounges. History abounds here with artworks showing a pictorial record of Auckland's finest old homesteads and landscapes. Another lounge, also beautifully appointed in period furniture, offers all the modern comforts of home, although it is a very short walk to Albert Park and some of Auckland's best cafes and bars.

Up the beautiful staircase to the very spacious Batten Suite - a private lounge with sky TV, a fireplace and adjoining bedroom/ensuite. The spacious Victorian room has an in room bath and handbasin. The other two elegant suites share the large bathroom with claw-foot bath and beautiful toiletries. Sumptuous breakfasts are served in the Rose Room.
